Background

I began my professional photography career as a photojournalist in Washington, D.C., back in 2009. It was an amazing job to be able do what I love while traveling, experiencing new things, meeting new people, creating art, and visually telling stories.  Along the way, I began to help out other photographers shooting weddings and quickly discovered how much I enjoyed it! It was a seamless transition and a natural extension of my formal education (B.A. Visual Journalism) and experience as a photographer. I was taken by the moments, the joy, and pure celebration.

Fast forward to now and I am still excited and honored every time a couple places their trust in me to document their day. It is amazing to still be able to do what I love and to be a part of these incredible moments in the lives of others!

Approach

My style is very much a creative documentary approach.  It never gets old searching for those amazing moments, beautiful light, and unique compositions. Utilizing the skills learned from over a decade of experience, I am able to approach any situation with confidence and can quickly adapt to any challenge that may arise.  I am always pushing myself creatively and strive for something new with each shoot. Aside from some portraits, I won’t pose you or tell you what to do.  My goal is  artfully capture the events as they unfold on your wedding day to create honest, beautiful, and story telling images that will be looked back on for generations.

Next Steps

If any of my work speaks to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out! It would be great to share a bit more about myself and my work, but more importantly I would love the opportunity to learn all about you, your plans, and if it would be a good fit to work together!

I am now based in Los Angeles where I live with my wonderful fiancé and super sweet 19 year old cat (Killer Kitty). In my free time I can be found surfing, running, or working on some sort of creative project, most likely involving woodworking.
